The burkini just remained a bathing garment being preferred by many people for its convenience. With the absence of risks to the public and society, the mayor was unable to implement a ban on the burkini swimsuit. Hence, the judiciary council of the State of France expelled the ban and granted the right of entry to beach and bathing with a burkini. This decision by the supreme judiciary board has reversed the decision of a lower court which found the ban on a burkini to be appropriate.

On hearing about the reversal of law, certain politicians took it to their advantage and fought to sustain the ban on a burkini. Mayor David retorted against the removal of the ban and stated that the ban on burkini would be enforced in his city as the supreme judiciary order was considered relevant only for the city of Villeneuve. London mayor Sadiq Khan who was on a political visit found the ban irrelevant in spite of being a Muslim. He expressed his views stating that women should have the liberty to wear a garment of their choice. Thus, this issue is expected to surface prominently during the presidential election of France.
